Hi, I’m Annie

I’m a current undergraduate at the University of Michigan studying Art and Design at STAMPS School of Art and Design with a minor in Social Class and Inequality Studies. Main avenues of creativity include illustration, film, books, and fashion.

My inspiration has deep roots from my childhood which include crystallized visions of my mother reading me and my sister storybooks every night. Once I understood the power of lessons within stories, my inspiration has since blossomed into an unshakable passion for teaching kids about acceptance, compassion, and understanding. My work utilizes the curious and honest wonder of a child as a window into deeper conversations of identity, cross cultural differences, and empathetic community. My love is to teach kids through my art because I believe teaching at the level kids learn can extend to everyone else because we all start from the wonderfully open and blank slate of a child’s mind. Their only limit is their curiosity and ability to listen.
